Feeling out of your element? Well than I have just the place for you! Bounce is Long Island’s FIRST trampoline park. Though this seems very childish and probably is… It is a lot of fun! It’s always good to do something out of your element. Bounce is covered in trampolines, foam pits, and hoops that you can dunk basketballs in! You can also play dodge ball or climb the walls… the options are endless and so is the fun.

Wild Wednesdays are made for college students. If you show your college id you get a special price. The first hour is $10 and the second hour is $5. This is not the only event that Bounce has, they also offer Teen Nights every Friday for teens ages 12-17 from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. For 3 hours it is only $22 dollars which is very cheap. If you have a younger sibling I would suggest to them trying it because it is a great time.

Bounce also offers Fitness classes to their customers. It is $15 per class. At Bounce they offer Bounce! Aerobics which is a high intensity workout that will have your heart pumping to the max! It burns fat, tones muscles, and improves balance and coordination. KERBOOMKA is offered at Bounce as well and it is different than the other fitness workout. It stimulates both the body and the mind by using dance moves and choreography. This exercise targets muscle groups. The benefits of these workouts are as followed:

  • Weight Loss
  • Improved Health
  • Stress Relief
  • And a fun trampoline workout!
Overall Bounce is definitely an experience to try and many times there are group deals on Groupon so you can go and enjoy yourself with a group! I definitely suggest trying this place for anyone that hasn't already and also taking advantage of Wild Wednesday's since we are all college students!

Food Chains that offer Half Off Apps

There is many food chains around that are good for dinner and what not but it is hard to find a food chain open late night. Instead people are stuck having to choose between fast food chains because they do not know their options. There are actually many food chains that are open late at night and they even have half off appetizers!  Below I’ve listed a few different food chains that are open late night and that offer half off apps!

The first food chain that is known for their “Half Off Apps” is Applebee’s. Applebee’s has great appetizer and twofer deals and they begin at 10 p.m. All appetizers on the menu are half priced after 10 p.m. except the Appetizer Sampler. There is also a list of alcoholic beverages that you can get two for the price of one. This is a deal that you can’t beat! I would recommend going before 10 because it tends to get crowded in Applebee’s at that time, especially on the weekends. On the weekends the crowds are mostly younger and the wait could potentially be long, so going before 10 is definitely recommended. I only go to Half Off Apps for the Mild Boneless Wings. They are delicious and their favorite. The Spinach Artichoke Dip, The Chili Cheese Nachos, and the Queso Blanco are also really good as well and I would recommend them for people in the mood to pick at food.  Not only is Applebee’s Half Off Apps cheap but the food quality is good as well.

  • Similarly to Applebee’s is Chili’s and TGI Friday’s. They both offer Half Off Apps as well after 9 p.m.

Lastly, for all you wing lovers out there, Half Off Apps has just gotten taken to a new level. Buffalo Wild Wings and Hooters both offer Half Off Apps, which I was unaware of until recently.

  •  Buffalo Wild Wings Half Off Apps is Monday-Thursday from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.
  •  Hooters Half Off Apps are new! And Half Off Apps is offered from 10 p.m. to close.

My Places of the Week

I was brought up in a family who likes going out to eat, so going out to dinner twice a week is somewhat normal for me. Though this may seem like its a lot to most people, I must say it does make it easier for me to recommend what restaurants to go to and not to go to.  Luckily for me my family likes trying restaurants that we haven’t been to prior.

This week I tried Anthony’s Coal Fire Pizza in Wantagh. There are many different locations but I went to the Wantagh one. I’m of course the odd one that didn’t have pizza there but I did try a slice of my moms! The wings are unlike any other wings I have tried before. They are not like normal wings at all.  They are called “Coal Oven Roasted Chicken Wings” and I suggest that anyone who comes here tries it. You can get the wings in either 10 pieces or 20 pieces. They are served with caramelized onions on top. I’m getting hungry just thinking about it!  Though their menu is not large, all the food that my family and I ordered was good. They obviously are known for their pizza. They have specialty pies as well as traditional pies and they come in a Small 12” or Large 16.” The pizza is thin crusted for the most part and it tastes very fresh.  They also offer salads and sandwiches if you are not in the mood for pizza. I got the Anthony’s Classic Italian Salad, which was the perfect portion for me. The service was good but I found that it gets very crowded at dinnertime so I would suggest going around 5 p.m. to beat the rush.

The second place I tried this week was Houston's in Garden City. It is right outside of the Roosevelt Field Mall. This place is always crowded and rather expensive so I would recommend if you are coming here to get a reservation prior to avoid the wait. This is a perfect place to come for a date or if you want to catch up with an old friend. Everything at Houston's comes in bigger portions! Everytime I've been here I've had to split a meal with someone because I can never finish my whole dinner! I got their grilled artichokes which I was skeptical about because I've never had them before in my life. I must say that they were amazing and I liked that they were served with a sauce to dip the artichokes in. For dinner my aunt and I split a burger with fries and a side of Ranch dressing.  Though this is a plain mean it was delicious and the food came out relatively quick so we weren't there for long. The food portion was a perfect amount for both of us.

Fun Things To Do This Summer on Long Island

With summer coming up and the prices of traveling exceeding as well I figured I would give you guys good ideas of things that you can do this summer on Long Island so you don’t have to travel far. Many people assume that there isn’t a lot to do here, I know I think about that all the time but there really is a whole bunch of things that people can do here and they don’t even know it.

For people who enjoy drinking outside in the warm weather there are many places on Long Island for you to go. One good place that is re-opening soon is The Boardy Barn. Though this is in the Hampton Bays it is definitely the best spot for Sunday Funday. People all over know about this place…especially for their infamous smiley face stickers.  You definitely have to plan transportation when going to The Boardy Barn, but there are a lot of options. You can take the train, the buses, or even rent a van if you want. The line is extremely long, but I recommend going there early and once you are in you will not regret waiting on the line! Everyone is accommodated underneath a giant tent and they serve cheap beer and cheap food like hotdogs. Who doesn’t like hotdogs?! They have loud music playing and overall it is just a good atmosphere. Many people call it the “Happiest Place on Earth.”

  • Fun Fact about The Boardy Barn is that they discourage you wearing orange t-shirts!

I know that The Boardy Barn is far away for many of us and that is why I have other suggestions of fun things to do! The Nautical Mile in Freeport is always a nice time. There is a lot of good restaurants, ice cream and Italian ice shops, a few stores and markets, and great views of the bay.  It is a perfect place for dinner and a nice walk afterwards on a nice summer night.  Also on the weekends at night the restaurants play music, which causes them to get crowded, especially with the younger crowds.

If you like wine here are some vineyards located on Long Island:
  • Jamesport Vineyards located in Jamesport
  • Pugliese Vineyards located in Cutchogue
  • Martha Clara Vineyards located in Riverhead
  • Pellegrini Vineyards located in Cutchogue

If you like beer instead here are some breweries on Long Island:
  • Bluepoint Brewing Company located in Patchogue
  • Fire Island Beer Company located in Ocean Beach
  • Port Jeff Brewing Company located in Port Jefferson

Wine and Dine:
Suffolk County
Monsoon Asian Kitchen and Lounge
48 Deer Park Ave, Babylon, NY 11702
(631) 587-440
http://monsoonny.com/

For all you sushi and Chinese lovers this is the place for you! I just tried this place recently myself and was impressed at how good it actually was. The restaurant itself is different from any other Asian Kitchen's that I've been too. It makes you feel like you are in NYC instead of on Long Island.  It is kind of dark inside but it is huge! There three different seating areas. Right when you walk in, in the back room, and upstairs. I would recommend making reservations prior because it does get busy in there. The one thing I must add is that Monsoon is kind of pricey but the food was delicious and the service was good which is a deal breaker for me. Also this restaurant is dressier, so be sure to be in the correct attire when going there.

  • One thing that Monsoon is known for is their Babylon Express.
Though I have not tried the Babylon Express myself, I've heard nothing but good things about it. Mainly that it is refreshing. Also for people who are going to get a drink in a crowd they offer Scorpion Bowls, which is always a good drink for people to share. Especially people who like sweet fruity tastes.

Casual Places:
Nassau County

Cabo
3 N Park Ave # A, Rockville Centre, NY 11570
(516) 255-0065
http://www.caborvc.net/

This place is a great Mexican place and it is perfect for the summer time. The atmosphere itself is summery and when the weather is nice the windows are open so all the customers can feel like they are away from home. It is a nice dinner getaway. Everything on the menu is under $25, which is almost unbeatable nowadays. The food also isn't too authentic which I personally like. I came here for dinner for my 21st birthday with my parents and sister and we all thought the food and the drinks were good.  The portions were perfectly sized and more than enough food comes with the meals. My sister and I were able to split a steak fajita and there was enough food served that we were both full by the time that we finished.

Also Cabo is known for their selection of Margaritas from their infamous Margarita Bar. There are also a lot of different deals here that you can't beat. The deals are as followed:

  1. Tuesday Nights at 10 p.m. Cabo has karaoke.
  2. Wednesday's at 7:30 p.m. there is Tropical Drink Specials.
  3. Thursday and Friday Cabo offers Happy Hour Specials from 4-7:30 p.m.  Drinks are 2 for 1.
  4. Friday and Saturday Nights are After Dark Nights. Cabo turns into a Nightlife place where people can go to dance to the DJ and have a good time with good people.  Frozen Margaritas, Dos Equis, and Bud Light are 1/2 priced
  5. Sunday Cabo offers Brunch from 11:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. An American and Mexican menu are offered
Nightlife Places:
Suffolk County
The Emporium
9 Railroad Ave, Patchogue, NY ‎
(631) 627-8787

This place is one of the BEST places that I've ever been to. It is ashame that I do not live closer to Emporium otherwise I'd be here every weekend. I suggest any one who enjoys dancing in a crowd come here. This place is HUGE which is a nice plus because most clubs are not this big. There is more than 3 big bars and getting a drink at the bar has never been an issue for me. They offer party packages as well as a VIP section with bottle service for the people who are interested in doing a party there.

Even though most pictures of Emporium look extremely crowded, there is usually a lot of space for people to move around. This is a bar, eatery, and beer garden. Also they have many musical entertainers playing at the Emporium.

Most events that they have are Friday and Saturday Nights. But the most popular event is their Saturday Night Dance Party. It is $15 dollars for men and $10 dollars for women to get in. You MUST BE 21 if you want to risk going in under 21 that is your call but I wouldn't risk it. The lines are usually long there so I would recommend being there by 10 p.m. to avoid the long line wait.

The Dress Code For Friday and Saturday Nights are listed as followed:

  • NO Hats
  • NO Baggy Pants
  • NO Shorts (Men)
  • NO Athletic Shoes
  • NO Tank Tops (Men)
  • NO Cut Off Shirts
